Must Win

Take a look at the Seahawks schedule and you will see that 3 of the next 4, and 5 of the next 7 games are on the road. Games against 1-2 teams that were 1-15 the prior season are rarely deemed “must win,” especially when it is the fourth game of the season. The game against this Rams this Sunday is exactly that for the Seahawks. Most fans are thrilled that the Seahawks are 2-1, and many fans would have gladly taken 2-2 heading into the bye before the season began.

A win on Sunday would significantly increase the chances of an above .500 finish for the Hawks, while also greatly diminishing any hope the Rams would have of competing for the division title. Don’t laugh. The Cardinals are horrid, and the 49ers have yet to rise from the Seahawks week 1 haymaker. Coming out of a bye week in Chicago won’t be easy, and then coming home to desperate Cardinals bunch won’t be either. A 2-2 record could quickly become 2-4 with a 3-game losing streak, before heading back out on the road to Oakland.

It may be hard to get up for a game like this after such a fantastic win over a great Chargers team, but make no mistake. This game will have a major impact on how the rest of the season unfolds.
