Players To Watch: Seahawks vs Titans

Live game action is almost upon us. There will be a lot of unfamiliar faces and numbers out there. Here are a few players to keep an eye on.

OFFENSE
QB #15 Matt Flynn
Flynn is scheduled to play the whole first half. He will probably only face first-string defenders the first quarter. See if he can draw the defense offsides as he’s done so often in camp, and count the number of throws he makes that this team could not make last season.

QB #3 Russell Wilson
Will play the second half, and should be lights out against defenders that will never play in the NFL. He is ready to shine. Fans will love him. He is still not the right starter for 2012. He could be down the road.

RB #22 Robert Turbin
Should get a lot of carries, and has the potential to flash.

TE #86 Zach Miller
Look for him to be more than a blocker.

TE #82 Kellen Winslow Jr.
Not sure if he will play since they are being cautious with his knees, but he will be involved if he is in there.

TE #88 Cameron Morrah
Has had a terrific camp catching the ball down field.

TE #45 Sean McGrath
One of the most popular targets in camp. He could be the leading receiver versus the Titans.

WR #17 Braylon Edwards
Taking over for Mike Williams, and looks to be up to the task.

WR #81 Golden Tate
Tate has had a good camp, but not necessarily the great camp many are reporting. He needs to prove he can make a meaningful impact in the games.

WR #11 Deon Butler
Needs a massive pre-season to make the roster.

WR #13 Phil Bates
Athletic receiver who has improved as camp has gone along. Definite practice squad potential

WR #14 Charly Martin
Another popular camp target. Would not be surprised if he leads the team in receiving versus the Titans.

DEFENSE
DE #51 Bruce Irvin
That blur across the screen is your new pass rushing specialist.

DE #47 Cordarro Law
Not far behind Irvin in the “get-off” department. Sleeper to make the 53-man roster.

LB #50 K.J. Wright
This guy came to camp ready to make his mark. He wants to be great, and I think he can be. You will notice how much faster and physical he is playing.

LB #54 Bobby Wagner
Wagner has looked like a good coverage ‘backer who can break on the ball. The thing to watch in the game is how he plays versus the run. Is he making plays in the hole, the back-field, or a few yards down the field?

DT #90 Jason Jones
Jones could be the difference between being a great defense and being elite. You won’t have a hard time finding him at 6’5″ standing among the shorties.

DT #94 Jaye Howard
Disruptive interior rusher.

LB #48 Mike Morgan
Battling for a spot as a back-up linebacker.

LB #53 Malcolm Smith
Has had a quiet camp, but the speed is there.

LB #59 Korey Toomer
Has not had a great camp. Hope to see his speed show up in the game.

DT/DE #98 Greg Scruggs
Been playing outside and inside on the line, and is making good plays.

CB #35 Phillip Adams
Subbed for Brandon Browner when he was resting. In the mix for depth at corner.

CB #37 Coye Francies
Battling Adams, and others, for a spot on the roster. Looks like a Seahawks CB.

S #27 Winston Guy
Strong camp. Strong player.

CB #41 Byron Maxwell
Another player battling to be a part of the Seahawks secondary. Injured early in camp, but has been gaining strength.
