The Seahawks have re-signed defensive tackle Greg Scruggs today, and waived safety Steven Terrell in a corresponding move.
This is encouraging news for the health of Kam Chancellor, despite his recent hip injury and recurring bone spur issue in his ankle.
Ideally, Scruggs will now get his chance to get in some real playing time. Nothing will be handed to him on this roster, however. He hasn’t played a down since 2012, and spent 2013 on injured reserve with a torn ACL. He’ll need to prove he can be a contributor on a defensive line that was surrendering just 2.6 yards per carry until giving up 162 yards to DeMarco Murray on Sunday.
