Pete Carroll just informed ESPN 710’s “Brock and Salk” that OT Russell Okung has a bruised lung, and will be “at least a week” before he can get back out and play again.
Carroll said they’d be closely monitoring Okung’s status throughout the week, but the injury seems likely to keep him off the field Sunday night at Arizona.
There’s never a good time to suffer a serious injury, but going into a prime-time divisional game against an opponent that notched five sacks against your offensive line just a few weeks ago is an even less-ideal time. Add in Max Unger’s hopeful return from his own injuries this week, and the offensive line’s health is continues to be the perennial concern with Seattle football.
If Okung misses time, Alvin Bailey will fill in at left tackle.
