Cooper Helfet, Max Unger and Marshawn Lynch all missed practice today, according to coach Carroll during his Wednesday press conference with local reporters.
Carroll said Helfet is day to day, and will need to show something in practice to have a chance to make it on the field in Philadelphia on Sunday.
Unger is still a week away, but the team is encouraged by his recovery. Max looks to make it back in time to be on the field when the 49ers make their annual dreaded voyage to Seattle in two weeks. With Lemuel Jeanpierre filling in admirably for Unger, having Unger anchoring the offensive line makes everyone better. Sometimes it’s the little things that make all the difference – especially in the trenches.
Lynch, meanwhile, is just getting his usual day of rest, and will be ready to rock on Sunday against the Eagles.
In other news, Jeremy Lane was limited in practice with a glute injury, but should be fine.
Who’d have thought we’d be waiting with bated breath to hear about the injury status of Cooper Helfet? Having him healthy alongside Tony Moeaki may actually be a major boost to Seattle’s passing game.
