RT Justin Britt’s knee injury will keep him out of the NFC Championship game today. Hidden hero Alvin Bailey will start in Britt’s stead on the right side. Also, backup safety and special teams ace Jeron Johnson will miss today’s action with an elbow injury.
Though many will heap scorn on Britt for an inconsistent rookie season, he has played every snap and started every game. The coaching staff believes in him. He had moments of excellence and moments of failure, as every rookie in the NFL inevitably does. But Bailey has shown what he can do, and should fill in today as a serviceable replacement.
