For it being this late in the season, the Seahawks are remarkably healthy. They enter a road game that got flexed out of a prime-time slot because the opposing Ravens are remarkably unhealthy and losing. QB Matt Schaub is listed as questionable, but all signs are pointing to Jimmy Clausen getting the start and facing the Seahawks twice in the same season. This is with Justin Forsett and Steve Smith Sr. both on injured reserve. To make matters worse, left tackle Eugene Monroe has also been placed on IR, leaving James Hurst to man Jimmy Clausen’s blind side. On paper, this game has “disaster” written all over it for Baltimore.
Cliff Avril and Michael Bennett got most of the week off from practice this week. Richard Sherman said part of why the team performed as well as they did in Minnesota was due to taking practice at a walk-through pace. Perhaps it was mostly to Avril and Bennett’s benefit. The coaching staff wants to keep those guys as fresh as possible at this point in the season as the Seahawks look to make another push into the playoffs.
